Child: Linda Aromorach

Born in 1999, Linda’s father was a government soldier and was killed during the insurgency of the “Lord’s Resistance Army” in northern Uganda. Her mother roasts maize using a small charcoal stove by a roadside to earn money. Linda is the oldest of two and is in 4th grade.
An interview with Linda
I like going to school. It gets me knowledge to get a job like being a nurse. It will get me money to help children, like my brother. I will pay his school fees so that he and others will learn like me. My favorite subject is science. I like measuring body temperature.
I like to play netball and jump rope. My best friends are Akello and Gloria. We play netball together and study and read books together, so that we can pass exams.
When my aunt was able to pay my school fees that time I was very happy. My mother buys maize and resells it. She is not always able to pay school fees and the school sends me home. I feel bad. I would be happy if I got sponsorship and I would say thank you.
